From time to time we will post some original model rocket plans that you can build. While we have built these rockets ourselves and flown them successfully, there is no guarantee that your model will fly as well. As with any model rocket that you build, you should always test the stability of the rocket prior to launch.
The Virginian
This is a sport model that has the look of a sounding rocket. It originally appeared in the NARHAMS Competiton & Sport Plan Booklet for CAPCON-91 back in 1991. The Virginian had over 20 successful flights before being lost.
X-20 Dyna-Soar
Over in the 3D Printing section we have an article along with the links to build the X-20 Dyna-Soar. The nose cone, stand and conduits are 3D printed while the remainder of the rocket uses traditional model rocket building materials and techniques.
